With today’s latest mobile phones and devices the internet is no longer contained just to the PC. The latest phones all have internet browsers, chatting applications and even video messaging. One needs to be just as conscious of the realities of the online world with their cell phone as they are with the computer.

  • Loss and theft of your mobile device could pose a problem if you have not properly logged out from a secure internet site such as banking or email or signed out from an instant messaging session.
  • Viruses can now be sent to mobile devices via Bluetooth; ensure that you set up your device to allow you to manually accept a connection from another device. If you don’t use Bluetooth, turn it off as it will protect your device and also conserve your battery life.
  • Parents should consider a mobile phone just as they would a computer when it comes to protecting children from online harassment, luring and abuse.
